About The Position

Accountable for provision of direct concurrent mental health and addiction services to children, youth, young adults and their families, primarily in a community and school (urban and rural) setting. These services will include individual, group and family counselling, crisis intervention, case management, outreach services as determined through Youth Drug Detoxification and Stabilization Act, assertive community case management, community support planning, educational presentations and consultation in the area of mental health and addictions services. The incumbent shall function within the practice principles of the Mental Health and Addictions Services program management model.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a health related discipline
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Registered/eligible for registration with the appropriate licensing body
  • Verbal communication skills
  • Time management skills
  • High level interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients and colleagues
  • Written Communication Skills
  • Public relations skills
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the Mental Health Services Act/related legislation
  • Proven ability to collaborate and partner with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to develop and deliver formal education programs
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and openness to working w/ diverse populations
  • Knowledge of program and community development processes
  • Clinical knowledge in mental illness, addictions, interventions and treatments.
