About The Position

This position offers a $2,000 (1 year stay-on agreement) or $4,000 (2 year stay-on agreement) Sign On Bonus with the agency! This bonus will be provided upon completion of a probationary period. Under the supervision of Coordinator or Supervisor for the Adult Mental Health Services Department, will function as a member of the Team. This person will serve as a Master’s level professional clinician performing a wide range of direct and indirect mental health and co-occurring substance use services. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: case management, individual and group therapy, treatment team consultation, development of person-centered plans, and evidenced-based practice activities such as Family Psychoeducation, and Co-Occurring Disorders treatment. Assessment of adults to determine mental health needs and level of care, provide brief counseling to those with mild to moderate mental illness, connect to community resources, and develop short term treatment plans using person centered planning principles. Responsible for extensive case documentation. Will function as CMHA-CEI representative on Mental Health Court Coordinating Committee. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/sub-unit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Possession of a Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field
  • One year experience (professional or paraprofessional) in treating or working with persons with mental illness or one academic year of graduate practicum/internship experience working with persons with mental illness
  • Possession of appropriate State of Michigan credential
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Ability to communicate accurately and effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and access to reliable means of transportation for job related use
