About The Position
The Mental Health Therapist is a Master’s-level professional clinician and member of the Adult Mental Health Services Case Management Services Team 2. Under the supervision of the Case Management Services Team 2 Coordinator, the therapist provides a wide range of direct and indirect mental health and co-occurring substance use services. The role includes case management, individual and group therapy, treatment team consultation, person-centered plan development, and evidence-based practice activities, as well as extensive case documentation. The therapist carries out program and sub-unit activities in accordance with CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies, and procedures. The position is located in Lansing, Michigan, and is scheduled for 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The hourly salary is $31.92–$35.75, with scheduled annual increases that result in an hourly rate of $41.50. A $2,000 sign-on bonus is available with a one-year stay-on agreement, or a $4,000 bonus with a two-year stay-on agreement; the bonus is provided after completion of a probationary period.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- Possession of an appropriate State of Michigan credential.
- One year of professional or paraprofessional experience working with persons with mental illness, or one academic year of graduate practicum/internship experience working with persons with mental illness.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Ability to communicate accurately and effectively, verbally and in writing.
- Valid Michigan driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for job-related use.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Employment is contingent on background verification and credentialing, including Michigan State Police clearance, professional license verification, Medicaid/Medicare verification, an acceptable Michigan driving record, educational background check, and acceptable work-history verification.
