About The Position

The ELCD program at OHU is known for its closely-knit teams who often work together for years at a time! The team members join their shared love of educating young children towards creating a warm and positive working environment. New employees who come from a corporate environment quickly fall in love with the atmosphere at an OHU child development center!

Requirements

• CDA
• Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education
• Associate's degree in related field with six (6) credits in ECE
• One year of professional experience working with children in childcare or school setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Providing a nurturing setting for our students (and their parents!)
• Teaching in a variety of classrooms as a floater teacher
• Arranging classrooms into learning centers that reflect children’s interests and encourage independent use as needed
• Partnering with co-teachers to develop and implement best practices
• Creating a warm and welcoming environment
• Encouraging our students to engage, discover, and learn to solve problems
• Collaborating in an ongoing fashion with parents and families
