About The Position
The Mental Health Technician functions in a collaborative process with the Psychiatric Staff Nurse in accordance with approved policies, procedures and schedules as directed by the Registered Nurse. The Mental Health Technician operating under the license of the Registered Nurse assists in the provision of nursing care with direct supervision by the RN to assure safe and quality nursing care.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required.
- BLS Certification by American Heart Association preferred upon hire, required in timeframe specified in CPR (BLS)/ALS/PALS Policy
Nice To Haves
- One year of working experience on an inpatient psychiatric unit or comparable experience preferred.
- BA in Psychology or equivalent degree preferred.
