Mental Health Technician, Per Diem, Rotating, Adult Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit, Cherry Hill
About The Position
Jefferson Health is hiring a per diem Mental Health Technician for its Adult Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit in Cherry Hill. The technician assists registered nurses in delivering care and observing patient behaviors, maintains a full patient caseload with an assigned primary nurse, and provides effective, compassionate care to patients in an inpatient setting. The role includes documenting and reporting changes in patients’ moods or behaviors and providing one-on-one sessions with assigned patients as needed. Technicians must be trained in PEAT and able to safely schedule and restrain an aggressively acting-out patient.
Requirements
- High school diploma required.
- At least 12 college credits required.
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.
- Must be trained in PEAT.
Nice To Haves
- A full college degree is preferred.
- A BA or BS in a behavioral health field is preferred.
- One year of experience with behavioral health clients is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist the RN in delivering care and observing patient behaviors.
