Ultrasound Technologists (Per Diem) - Cherry Hill
About The Position
Jefferson Health is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist to perform clinical diagnostic examinations and support diagnostic and interventional procedures. Under the supervision of a Radiologist, the technologist operates ultrasound imaging equipment to produce images of the body. The role includes explaining procedures to patients, obtaining relevant medical history, preparing the examination room, providing basic patient care as needed, and producing permanent records of examinations. The position may be eligible for conversion to a Trainee role, subject to team capacity and available cross-training resources. Trainee opportunities are not guaranteed, are evaluated case by case, and require an on-the-job training agreement and completion of required certifications in accordance with the department’s training program.
Requirements
- Completion of a formal training program.
- RDMS (ARDMS) certification.
Nice To Haves
- Six months to one year of post-registry experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Explain radiographic procedures to patients and obtain a complete and accurate history relevant to the examination.
- Independently perform clinical diagnostic examinations, including necessary room preparation.
- Provide basic patient care as needed.
- Produce permanent records of diagnostic examinations.
- Operate ultrasound imaging equipment under the supervision of a Radiologist to produce images for diagnostic and interventional procedures.
