About The Position

The Mental Health Technician (MHT) provides direct care, direction, and supervision to emotionally and/or behaviorally challenged children and adolescents. The MHT assists in implementing individualized treatment plans and focuses on creating an environment of safety and relationship building.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Supervise clients’ daily routines and responsibilities and ensure they perform daily self-care tasks, assisting when necessary.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment and act immediately to remove dangers or threats to clients’ welfare.
• Provide minor first aid as necessary.
• Provide milieu management through structured programming.
• Facilitate or co-facilitate daily programming activities, transitional meetings, and therapeutic groups.
• Participate in planning and implementing individualized treatment plans and schedules.
• Provide transportation, when necessary, to and from school, activities, off-campus appointments, visits, and other destinations.
• Distribute medications as required and ensure compliance with medication procedures.
