Responsible for providing direct care to patients with psychiatric disorder; to ensure the safety and well-being of patients; to support the maintenance of therapeutic milieu. This role assists with the care and treatment of psychiatric, drug and alcohol patients, advocates for patients who may be vulnerable or need additional support, and provides parent/family counseling. The technician adheres to guidelines for patients on special status (e.g., suicide, sexual abuse, or AWOL precautions), provides accurate shift-to-shift reports, and thinks and acts quickly in emergencies. They must maintain professional boundaries with patients and complete all required documentation in a timely manner.
