Compass Intervention Center is seeking a dynamic and talented Mental Health Tech. The Mental Health Tech creates a safe environment for clients, provides direct supervision of clients, empowers clients, and teaches new tools for coping to clients. The Mental Health Tech provides direct client care under the supervision of a Milieu Manager & Registered Nurse. Primary responsibilities include the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, crisis intervention, individual/family education groups and activities of daily living.
Requirements
- High school diploma required
- Must possess knowledge of psychiatric group processes
- Must possess knowledge of therapeutic relationships processes
- Must possess knowledge of age specific growth and development
- Must possess knowledge of limit setting and behavior management
- Must possess knowledge of crisis management with aggressive behaviors
- Must possess knowledge of Verbal De-Escalation
- Must possess knowledge of Handle with Care
- Must possess knowledge of CPR training
Nice To Haves
- Bachelors Degree in Psychology or related field highly preferred
- One-year experience working with a psychiatric client population preferred
- Knowledge of effective teaching skills and educational strategies with a special education population
- Knowledge of individual and group management skills
- Knowledge of therapeutic relationships and processes
- Knowledge of age specific growth and development
- Knowledge of limit setting and crisis and behavior management
