Mental Health Tech (MHT) Full-Time Days
About The Position
The Mental Health Technician (MHT) is an active member of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients ranging in age from preschool through geriatrics. MHTs work under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The position is full-time on the day shift, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and rotates holidays and works every other weekend. Metropolitan Behavioral Hospital is a 144-bed behavioral health facility offering inpatient services for adolescents, adults, and older adults, behavioral health assessments 24 hours a day, programs addressing co-occurring behavioral health and substance use issues, and outpatient group, family, and individual therapy.
Requirements
- Associate degree in psychology, sociology, social work, or a similar field.
- The position rotates holidays and requires working every other weekend.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, social work, or a similar field.
- One to two years of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care and understanding of mental illness.
