About The Position

The Recovery Specialist works in Rosecrance’s Supervised Housing program, supporting adult clients in a group-home setting. The role helps clients build daily living skills through hands-on instruction in areas such as budgeting, meal planning, and meal preparation. Staff assist with activities of daily living, including cooking, cleaning, and medication monitoring, and help clients safely access the community for basic needs and leisure activities. The role requires flexibility because days and hours may vary according to site needs, and a set schedule is not always guaranteed. The position involves working independently while communicating effectively with the team, using or learning de-escalation techniques, leading outings and therapeutic group activities, and adapting teaching approaches to individual clients. Staff are expected to teach clients how to complete tasks rather than doing tasks for them, while maintaining patience and a healthy work-life balance. Rosecrance provides behavioral health services through evidence-based therapies and compassionate care. The organization maintains a zero-tolerance drug-free environment, including marijuana, and requires candidates to pass an occupational health screening.
