About The Position

At Dungarvin, we are a mission-driven team rooted in respect, response, and choice, dedicated to providing person-centered support services since 1976. We assist individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities or other complex medical needs, enabling them to live as independently as possible across 15 states. This full-time organizational position involves coordinating and supervising one to two residential programs that specialize in supporting individuals with challenging behavioral and mental health needs. As a Mental Health Program Director, your primary responsibilities include supervising and training mental health specialists and ensuring all aspects of the program are developed, implemented, coordinated, and monitored to the highest degree possible.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience supervising programs that oversee services for people with behavioral and serious persistent mental health needs
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Current auto liability insurance with reliable transportation
  • Designated Manager status per 245D licensing

Nice To Haves

  • A four-year degree in behavioral science, or related field

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and supervise one to two residential programs that specialize in supporting individuals with challenging behavioral and mental health needs
  • Supervise and train mental health specialists
  • Ensure all aspects of the program are developed, implemented, coordinated, and monitored to the highest degree possible
  • Ensure all direct service shifts in their programs are filled by staff who have met Dungarvin conditions of employment and have been adequately oriented and trained to perform their jobs
  • Occasionally work direct service shifts, normally not exceeding 16 hours per week
  • Notify supervisor in advance if working more than 16 hours of direct service in any work week, or as soon as possible if advance notification is not feasible
  • Make arrangements with the director if schedule adjustment is necessary
  • Be always on-call, unless prior arrangements have been made for someone of comparable authority to receive emergency calls
