About The Position

This position provides school mental health counseling services as an embedded mental health professional in the Clover School District. Under the supervision of the Child, Adolescent, and Family Supervisor or School Based Services Supervisor, the employee will provide therapeutic and emergency services to a targeted population of patients within the Catawba catchment area. The role also involves frequent interaction with other community agencies and maintaining positive professional relationships. The position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Catawba Community Mental Health Center (CCMHC), 205 Piedmont Blvd, Suite 100, Rock Hill, SC 29732.

Requirements

• A Master's degree in guidance, counseling, or the social sciences.
• Employee must qualify as a Mental Health Professional as defined by SCDBHDD/CCMHC QA Standards.
• Must be licensed or be eligible for full licensure within 3 years of hire.
• Applicants must be able to provide evidence of clinical experience providing direct patient care. This experience may be documented as a practicum or internship during graduate program, or post-graduate experience.
• Must be able to operate a state vehicle.
• Must be able to lift five (5) lbs.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
• Be able to pass CPR and Managing Agitation in the Psychiatric Setting (MAPS) Certification.
• Perform all job duties and provide all services and documentation in compliance with CARF, OMH, CCMHC, Quality Assurance, Compliance, HIPAA, Transcultural and Productivity Standards, Policies and Procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical services, including but not limited to, assessment, individual, family and group therapy and crisis intervention services to a targeted population of Child and Adolescent clients and their families. Services may be provided in the clinic, in the client’s school home, or other community setting.
• Responsible for case management services for assigned caseload. These services include: referrals, advocacy, interagency staffings, and coordinating care between agencies/service providers as appropriate.
• Formulate recovery-based plans of care with person centered goals and objectives.
• Conduct timely reviews and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Attend and participate in Treatment Team meetings/staffings, including staffing with MD at CCMHC.
• Pursue continuing education and training.
• Maintain positive professional relationships with MHC staff, and community agencies, as well as, clients and their families.
• Work to overcome the stigma of mental illness and mental health services by providing education, training and support services to the community at large.
