This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Catawba Community Mental Health Center (CCMHC), 448 Lakeshore Pkwy, Suite 110, NorthLake II, Rock Hill, SC 29730. Under the supervision of the Clinic Director, you will provide therapeutic and emergency services to targeted population of patients within the Catawba catchment area. Will also ensure frequent interaction with other community agencies and maintain positive professional relationships.

Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field.
  • Evidence of clinical experience providing direct patient care (practicum, internship, or post-graduate experience).
  • Must qualify as a Mental Health Professional as defined by SCBHDD/CCMHC QA Standards.
  • Must be licensed or be eligible for full licensure within 3 years of hire.
  • Employee must maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift 5 lbs

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
  • Be able to pass CPR and Managing Agitation in the Psychiatric Setting (MAPS) Certification.
  • Be able to operate a state vehicle.
  • Be able to work a flexible schedule.
  • Perform all job duties and provide all services and documentation in compliance with CARF, OMH, CCMHC, Quality Assurance, Compliance, HIPAA, Transcultural and Productivity Standards, Policies and Procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medically necessary clinical services, including but not limited to, assessment, individual, family and group therapy and crisis intervention services to a targeted population.
  • Services may be provided in the clinic, in the client’s home, or other community setting.
  • Will directly interact and asses walk-in and triage appointments, ensuring that Center access standards are met.
  • Responsible for case management services for assigned caseload. These services include referrals, advocacy, interagency staffings, and coordinating care between agencies/service providers as appropriate.
  • Formulate recovery-based plans of care with person centered goals and objectives.
  • Conduct timely reviews and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
  • Attend and participate in Treatment Team meetings/staffings, including staffing with medical staff at CCMHC.
  • Pursue continuing education and training.
  • Maintain positive professional relationships with MHC staff, and community agencies, as well as clients and their families.
  • Work to overcome the stigma of mental illness and mental health services by providing education, training, and support services to the community at large.
