About The Position

The Johns Hopkins Hospital Mental Health Occupational Therapy Fellowship is an AOTA-accredited, 12-month program designed to help occupational therapists complete professional milestones in one year. It aligns with AOTA Standards for Continuing Competence and develops knowledge, critical thinking, interpersonal skills, performance abilities, and ethical behavior. The program prepares fellows for career advancement and advanced practice in mental health occupational therapy. The fellowship combines mentored advanced clinical practice and didactic experiences across inpatient, outpatient, and day-hospital settings. Fellows rotate through a range of psychiatric and related services and participate in scholarly activities, advocacy, teaching, and mentorship. Graduates earn more than the 36 competency assessment units required for NBCOT certification renewal. Fellows are Johns Hopkins Health System employees and receive a salary and full-time employee benefits, including medical coverage and paid time off. Invited candidates complete an additional Human Resources application process, during which salary is finalized. The program is scheduled to start in late August 2027. Applications open November 1, 2026, and close January 31, 2027; interviews are scheduled for March 2027, with admission decisions in April 2027.
