About The Position

Liberty Resources is hiring a full-time Mental Health Clinician for its Mobile Crisis team in Onondaga County. The clinician works alongside Mobile Crisis Responders and Peers, primarily conducting clinical assessments and providing crisis intervention. Responses may be provided by telephone, in person, or through telehealth, with follow-up services based on an individual's needs. The Mobile Crisis Team is a trained, multidisciplinary team that provides culturally and linguistically competent crisis intervention in community settings. Services include assessment, crisis diversion, safety and relapse prevention planning, support during and after a crisis, and coordination with and referrals to health, social, and other services, including peer and family supports. The team aims to divert unnecessary hospitalizations and arrests, support engagement in services, reduce symptoms, stabilize individuals, restore functioning, and develop coping mechanisms to help prevent future crises. This is a field-based, community-facing role involving regular travel and in-person work in locations such as private homes, shelters, public spaces, and outdoor environments. The work is fast-paced and emotionally dynamic, requiring flexibility, composure, quick decision-making, and schedule adaptability. The role includes collaboration with emergency services, families, and multi-agency partners. The position requires a flexible 40-hour schedule, Monday through Friday, between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Work locations may have stairs, uneven terrain, limited accessibility, or other physical challenges, and the role may involve extended periods of physical activity.

  • Work a flexible 40-hour schedule Monday through Friday between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

  • Make treatment recommendations and referrals to other behavioral health services as clinically indicated.
  • Respond to individuals in crisis by telephone, in person, or through telehealth as needed.
