Mental Health Clinician

Liberty Resources, Inc.

About The Position

Liberty Resources is hiring a Mobile Crisis Mental Health Clinician (Licensed Responder) to join its Mobile Crisis Team in Oswego County. The multidisciplinary team provides crisis intervention in community settings, including where people live, work, attend school, receive services, or socialize. Services are intended to interrupt and ameliorate crises through culturally and linguistically competent assessment, crisis diversion and safety planning, support during and after a crisis, and coordination with and referrals to health, social, and other services and supports. The team aims to reduce unnecessary hospitalizations and arrests, engage people in services, reduce symptoms, stabilize individuals, help restore prior functioning, and build coping mechanisms to reduce future crises. It serves Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, Onondaga, and Oswego counties. The clinician works alongside Mobile Crisis Specialists and Peers, primarily conducting clinical assessments and providing crisis intervention. Responses may be provided by telephone, in person, or through telehealth as needed. Additional follow-up services may be offered according to the individual's level of need. This is a per diem role with flexible scheduling options. The posting lists shifts by county, including weekday evenings, weekends and holidays, overnight coverage in Onondaga or Oswego, and weekday daytime coverage as needed. It also describes the work as fast-paced and emotionally dynamic, collaborative, and requiring flexibility, composure, and quick decision-making. Staff travel to locations not controlled or maintained by the agency, such as private homes, shelters, public spaces, and outdoor environments. Compensation includes $32.15 per on-call shift, described as equating to $225 for one week and providing advanced compensation for telephonic crisis response. An additional $100 is paid per on-call shift on an agency-observed holiday. Mobile crisis response and in-person follow-up payments vary by duration as listed in the posting.
