About The Position

Lutheran Community Services NW is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving communities throughout Washington, Oregon, and Idaho with a wide range of services for individuals of all ages and backgrounds. All LCSNW team members will contribute to our mission of partnering with individuals, families and communities for health, justice and hope. As a member of the Multicultural Counseling team, the Mental Health Clinician provides culturally sensitive mental health services. Their role involves helping clients navigate cultural and language barriers to access necessary mental health, medical, social, and educational services.

Requirements

  • Fluency in English and Spanish or Vietnamese
  • Master’s degree granted by an accredited institution in Counseling, Art Therapy, Social Work, Psychology, or closely related field.
  • QMHP, LPCA, LPC, LCSWA, LCSW
  • Standard LCSNW criminal clearance, including national sex offender, ORCHARDS, SAM/OIG required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide culturally appropriate, trauma-informed counseling to individuals, families, and groups
  • Maintain active case load including case notes and records in alignment with the agency’s documentation standards
  • Conduct mental health screenings and assessments to determine treatment needs and referrals to medication management or other adjunctive services (e.g. support group, peer support, case management)
  • Apply evidenced-based practices in treatment
  • Collaborate with consumer supports, including family members, partner agencies, and others as indicated on an ongoing basis
  • Demonstrate awareness and sensitivity in the delivery of client services as it relates to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the populations served
  • Model and encourage direct, professional communication among staff members, and facilitate development of a positive staff support network
