We invite you to partner with us in our mission to improve mental healthcare. This role is part of the Crisis Residential Unit (Adult Inpatient) and offers a 4-day/10-hour work schedule. The Crisis Residential Unit is a 24/7 inpatient voluntary program with a 16-bed facility for adults (ages 18-59) providing rehabilitation/recovery services, including substance use rehabilitation services, pre-vocational or vocational counseling, and medication evaluation and support services.

Requirements

• Master's degree in social work, marriage & family therapy, or psychology from an accredited college or university required.
• One (1) year direct service experience in a mental health setting required (student internship and/or practicum time may be substituted).
• Mental Health Specialist II: Licensed as AMFT, ACSW, or APCC required.
• Mental Health Specialist III: Licensed as LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in an inpatient therapy setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares a comprehensive written psychosocial evaluation and assessment on assigned clients, in addition to an intake note, daily progress notes, summary notes (as may be required) and a discharge summary.
• Responsible for assessing client’s readiness for admission and coordination planning with treatment team, the client’s case managers, and transferring facilities.
• Responsible for assessing client’s readiness for discharge and coordination planning with treatment team; working with case managers to effect appropriate referrals for placement, case management and aftercare services; coordinates benefits (Medi-Cal) with Business Office personnel; and maintains knowledge of community resources.
• Provides individual group therapy to clients on a weekly basis and as needed based on the needs of the clients.
• Actively participates in treatment team meetings and is responsible for working with other disciplines to develop a coordinated treatment plan for assigned clients.
• Leads or co-leads therapeutic groups.
