About The Position

The WISe Mental Health Clinician provides mental health services, incorporating evidence-based practices that focus on the strengths of children and families served, maintains required records, and works effectively with community and agency staff. This position requires availability to work in homes, schools, community, and office setting depending on needs of individuals families on caseload. Communication, confidentiality and professionalism are essential parts of this position, particularly due to WISe being a team-based approach. The ability to work flexible hours including evenings and participating in an on-call rotation is expected. Please note: This position requires the ability to demonstrate fluency (spoken & written) in English and an additional language: Somali, Dari, Farsi, Pashto, Arabic, or Spanish.

Requirements

  • Ability to demonstrate fluency (spoken & written) in English and an additional language: Somali, Dari, Farsi, Pashto, Arabic, or Spanish.
  • Successful completion of a background check through Washington State Patrol.
  • Cannot be excluded from participation in any federal healthcare programs (Medicaid, Medicare, and other federally funded programs that provide health benefits).
  • Must not be prohibited from entering school grounds or classrooms for any reason.
  • Master’s degree granted by an accredited institution in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, Psychology, or a closely related field is required.
  • Submit Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration Application (Within 30 days)
  • CPR/First Aid (Within 90 Days)
  • Washington State CANS certification. (Within 90 Days)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience conducting assessments, diagnosis, and treatment planning acquired through internship or employment is preferred.
  • LICSW, LMFT, LPC, or MHP preferred; eligibility for licensure, or working toward licensure

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a caseload of 15 to 25 families.
  • Provide culturally mindful mental health treatment services to children, youth, and families experiencing mental health conditions.
  • Conduct mental health screenings and assessments to determine treatment needs aligned with current DSM diagnoses.
  • Maintain timely case notes and records in alignment with the agency’s documentation standards.
  • Collaborate with client supports, including family members, partner agencies, and others as indicated with regards to client treatment plan.
  • Approach responsibilities with a high degree of flexibility, including the ability to shift quickly from various tasks based on the needs of the individual.
  • Participate in required supervision, staff, IEP, 504, and problem-solving team meetings, as well as professional development opportunities that may be located throughout the county.
  • Model and encourage direct, professional communication among staff members.
  • Demonstrate awareness and sensitivity in the delivery of client services as it relates to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the populations served.
  • Stay up to date in knowledge and skills in the field.
  • Required to travel throughout countywide service area with mileage reimbursement allocated monthly
