The Mental Health Clinician for Athletics reports to the Director of the Counseling and Psychological Services Center (CAPS). The primary function of the position is to serve the mental health needs of student-athletes on the University of Tulsa (TU) campus through direct provision of clinical services. This position will be embedded in the TU athletic department and operate with the support of the broader athletic department to include coaches, trainers, academic services, and administrators. Clinical services that will be provided for this position include providing individual, couples, and group forms of therapeutic intervention for TU student-athletes. Additionally, duties would include providing psychological assessments as needed, psychoeducational programming, and outcome assessments for TU student athletes. This position will rotate with other CAPS professionals in after hours on call coverage to provide crisis response. While direct therapeutic services are not offered to staff or faculty, this position provides general clinical and non-clinical consultations to staff and faculty members in the TU athletic community.
