About The Position

The Event Staff within the University of Delaware Athletics Department is a committed group of individuals who work together to provide our guests with the best fan experience possible while they attend events within our arenas. Pride, integrity, and excellence are the pillars that our department is built upon and these qualities are displayed prominently in all of our guest interactions and how our department functions as a whole. The Athletics Event Staff is seeking responsible, motivated undergraduate students to assist with a multitude of opportunities within our department.

Requirements

• Applicants must be undergraduate students at the University of Delaware.
• Applicants must be enrolled in a graduate program at the University of Delaware and be in good academic standing.
• Combined on-campus employment, including teaching, research and graduate assistantship, must not exceed 29.5 hours per week for graduate students.
• Graduate students on contract may hold additional employment, on campus or off, up to 29.5 hours per week total without approval by the student’s program, the student advisor or the Graduate College.

Responsibilities

• Usher: responsible for monitoring their section/s within our stadiums and assisting with seating/guest questions
• Ticket Taker: responsible for taking/scanning tickets at the gates
• Ball Person: responsible for placing game balls around the field, giving balls back to the players, and chasing balls when needed. This is a very active position. (soccer, volleyball, field hockey, lacrosse)
• BCC Floor Team: responsible for building and removing the flooring at the Bob Carpenter Center
• Floor Sweeper: Assist with sweeping the court during basketball games during time outs, between halves/quarters or when an athlete falls to keep the playing surface dry and safe.
• Guest Services: Assist at our guest services booths during football season to provide our guests with the best experience possible while answering basic stadium questions (restroom locations, concessions, giveaways, etc.)
• Shuttle Driver: Assist our guests with mobility needs to our stadiums via golf cart. This position will be responsible for picking up and dropping off guests from their vehicles to the stadium and back.
