About The Position

The Event Staff within the University of Delaware Athletics Department is a committed group of individuals who work together to provide our guests with the best fan experience possible while they attend events within our arenas. Pride, integrity, and excellence are the pillars that our department is built upon and these qualities are displayed prominently in all of our guest interactions and how our department functions as a whole. The Athletics Event Staff is seeking responsible, motivated undergraduate students to assist with a multitude of opportunities within our department.

Requirements

• Must be an undergraduate student at the University of Delaware.
• Must be enrolled in a graduate program at the University of Delaware and be in good academic standing (for graduate student applicants).
• Graduate students on contract must not exceed 29.5 hours per week of combined on-campus employment, including teaching, research, and graduate assistantships.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring assigned sections within stadiums and assisting guests with seating and general questions.
• Scanning and collecting tickets at event gates.
• Placing game balls around the field, returning balls to players, and retrieving balls during play (soccer, volleyball, field hockey, lacrosse). This is a very active position.
• Building and dismantling flooring at the Bob Carpenter Center.
• Assisting with sweeping the court during basketball games during breaks in play to maintain a dry and safe playing surface.
• Assisting guests at guest services booths during football season by answering basic stadium questions (restroom locations, concessions, giveaways, etc.).
• Transporting guests with mobility needs to and from stadiums via golf cart, picking up and dropping off guests from their vehicles.
