About The Position

Coos County's behavioral health department is actively recruiting for qualified Mental Health Associate to assist individuals with mental health issues by providing support, education and case management. This position provides community-based services that support individuals with significant mental health needs in achieving their recovery goals. This position functions as part of a two-person team, delivering recovery-oriented assistance to individuals under Aid and Assist who are preparing to transition from higher levels of care - including the Oregon State Hospital - or who have recently transitioned to community-based services. Position is located in Coos Bay, Oregon with Coos Health & Wellness at 281 LaClair Street, and is under the AFSCME Union.

Requirements

  • Must be a qualified mental health associate or eligible
  • Bachelor's degree in health/behavioral health or a combination of at least three years' work experience, training or education in mental health.
  • Selected candidate to undergo a background check.

Responsibilities

  • Assist individuals with mental health issues by providing support, education and case management.
