About The Position

This position serves as an Assistant Program Director, responsible for developing and managing programmatic systems for input into Individual Service Plans (ISP), and active treatment services offered by the Tiffin Developmental Center (TDC). The role involves conducting internal audits, monitoring staff for compliance with federal and state regulations, and reviewing/recommending changes to policies related to staffing and ISPs. The Assistant Program Director will provide hands-on support to staff through modeling active treatment strategies, training, coaching, and guidance, including the use of trauma-informed care principles and approved behavioral intervention techniques. This includes providing corrective feedback or disciplinary action as needed. The position also involves participation in planning meetings, oversight of the programmatic components of the Electronic Health Record for accurate documentation and regulatory alignment, and ensuring the implementation of prevention plans. The role may involve exposure to unpredictable resident behavior and communicable diseases.

Requirements

  • 24 months of experience in development & implementation of treatment/habilitation plans for individuals who are mentally ill or developmentally disabled & working as part of inter-disciplinary team to assess individual’s needs & abilities
  • 12 months of experience as lead worker providing work direction & training for other employees
  • 12 months of training or 12 months of experience in state &/or federal regulations & standards governing care, custody & programming of consumers/residents in mental health or developmental centers
  • 6 months of experience in writing or assisting in development of policies, procedures, goals & objectives of operational unit or program of agency or firm
  • 1 course in manpower planning or 3 months of experience scheduling staff to ensure adequate coverage or projecting adequate staff levels
  • 3 months of training in budgeting or 3 months of experience preparing or assisting in preparation of budget for operational unit or program of agency or firm
  • Completion of undergraduate core program in mental health & developmental disabilities technology, social work or comparable field (e.g., child & family community services), special education, psychology or rehabilitation
  • 6 months of experience as Mental Health Administrator 2, 65222
  • Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above

Responsibilities

  • Acts as an Assistant Program Director
  • Develops & manages programmatic systems for input into ISP, development & active treatment services offered by the Center
  • Conducts internal audits & monitors staff to ensure compliance with federal & state regulations.
  • Reviews policies related to staffing, Individual Service Plans & recommends changes and assist with implementation.

  • Provide corrective feedback or disciplinary action as needed, in alignment with facility policies and labor agreements.
