About The Position

Under general direction of the DDD Program Director and with required extensive knowledge of manpower planning, general management principles and techniques and mental health and developmental disabilities technology plans, directs and implements cottage level program services (such as active treatment). Acts as an assistant to the Program Director (such as functionally supervises and evaluates the programmatic services implemented by Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professionals). Maintains a cottage QIDP caseload and/or assumes a caseload in the absence of a QIDP. Conducts internal surveys and monitors staff to ensure compliance with the federal and state regulations. Reviews policies related to staffing, OHISP and recommends changes. Provides information to the Program Director regarding material for consumer and staffing needs. Provides input and assistance regarding systematic programmatic issues. Initiates disciplinary action and commendations; ensures that monitoring is completed timely. Trains and monitors supervisors’ implementation of active treatment. Reviews OHISP, monthly reviews, consumer services. Functionally supervises Program Services in the absence of Program Director. Develops and manages programmatic systems for input into OHISP, development and active treatment services offered by the center. Ensures compliance with all standards and regulations and prepares reports regarding progress and status of quality of services Works with other Center staff to ensure consumer needs are met. Interviews applicants and makes recommendations to hire. Attends Executive staff meeting, Quality Improvement Committee meeting and other committee meetings as required.

Requirements

  • 24 months experience in development and implementation of treatment/habilitation plans for individuals who are mentally ill or developmentally disabled and working as part of inter-disciplinary team to assess individual’s needs and abilities
  • 12 months experience as lead worker providing work direction and training for other employees
  • 12 months training or 12 months experience in state and/or federal regulations and standards governing care, custody and programming of consumers/residents in mental health or developmental centers
  • 6 months experience in writing or assisting in development of policies, procedures, goals and objectives of operational unit or program of agency or firm
  • 1 course in manpower planning or 3 months experience scheduling staff to ensure adequate coverage or projecting adequate staff levels
  • 3 months training in budgeting or 3 months experience preparing or assisting in preparation of budget for operational unit or program of agency or firm
  • Completion of undergraduate core program in mental health and developmental disabilities technology, social work or comparable field (such as child and family community services), special education, psychology or rehabilitation
  • 6 months experience as Mental Health Administrator 2, 65222
  • Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above
