About The Position

The PHOENIX Internship Program is a 10-week, paid program for rising junior and senior undergraduate students and graduate students. Interns gain hands-on experience in an area of interest, collaborate across functions, develop professional skills, and learn from experienced professionals at a multi-brand retail company. PHOENIX Retail, LLC operates the Express and Bonobos brands. This Men's Design Summer Internship supports the Express brand and is based at the New York office. The Summer 2027 program runs from June 2 to August 5, 2027.

The program includes professional-development workshops, networking sessions with leaders, mentorship opportunities, cross-functional group project collaboration, and group outings, social events, and volunteer opportunities. Interns must work full-time, follow the four-days-in-office approach, relocate to the office location, and commit to the full 10-week program. Housing accommodations are not provided. A GPA of 3.2 or higher is preferred.

Requirements

• Be a rising junior or senior undergraduate student or a graduate student.
• Be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week.
• Be available to work in the office four days per week.
• Relocate to the office location; housing accommodations are not provided.
• Commit to the entire 10-week program, June 2 to August 5, 2027.
• Be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States; PHOENIX does not sponsor work visas for this position.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside various Design teams as they build the seasonal line.
• View and select trends applicable to Express menswear through competitive research.
• Participate in design research, including sourcing images, fabrics, trims, prints, colors, and linings.
• Develop concept boards for presentation meetings.
• Create technical sketches and illustrations for seasonal presentations by hand and using Adobe Illustrator.
• Organize samples into categories for easy reference during key meetings and working sessions.
