About The Position

The Memory Care Support Partner works with residents in a memory care neighborhood, creating human connections and supporting residents through daily life. The role involves learning residents’ interests and abilities, collaborating on engagement plans, and implementing them patiently. The Support Partner prepares physical spaces for residents’ routines and activities, partners with residents from waking through bedtime, documents care and changes in condition, and assists with orienting team members assigned to memory care neighborhoods. This part-time position is based at Barrymore in Kansas City, Missouri, and is scheduled Mondays and Sundays from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Pay is $18.50–$28.25 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Be able to read, write, understand, and communicate in English with residents.
Have a positive, energetic attitude and enthusiasm for working with residents.
Have computer skills sufficient to print documents and enter resident information.
Be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop throughout the day.
Be able to frequently lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Be criminally cleared.

Responsibilities

Create empathetic human connections with residents, including during vulnerable moments.
Observe residents’ interests and abilities and collaborate on appropriate engagement plans and strategies.
Prepare dining rooms, libraries, residents’ rooms, and other spaces for meals, events, and resident routines.
Partner with residents to support daily life from waking through bedtime.
Document resident care and changes in condition.
Assist with orientation of team members assigned to memory care neighborhoods.
Assist residents with sitting, standing, and walking, and assist persons after a fall.
