About The Position

TerraBella Senior Living is seeking a Memory Care Director to lead the memory care unit at its Pheasant Ridge community. The director oversees the unit’s overall operation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, and develops and facilitates programming suited to people with dementia. The role collaborates with the Activities Director, engages Care Managers in activities, builds relationships with Alzheimer’s support organizations, coordinates family support meetings, and supervises C.N.A.s in the memory care unit.

Requirements

• One year of management experience in dementia care.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Ability to delegate assignments.
• Competence in organizational and time management skills.
• Good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, develop, and lead the overall operation of the memory care unit in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Partner with the Activities Director to ensure appropriate activities are available throughout the day and evening and that Care Managers are actively involved.
• Design, schedule, and facilitate the memory care unit program, incorporating Life Skills and a variety of dementia-appropriate activities.
• Establish a cooperative relationship with the local Alzheimer’s Association chapter or another Alzheimer’s advisory organization.
• Ensure monthly family support group meetings are planned and facilitated.
• Supervise C.N.A.s in the memory care unit.
