About The Position

The Memory Care Aide role at Masonicare at Mystic Assisted Living, officially titled Residential Care Assistant, provides residents with assistance that promotes independence, freedom of choice, and quality of life. The position supports residents with activities of daily living, personal care, instrumental activities of daily living, dining, and resident-centered activities. The schedule is evening shift, 24 hours per week, with every other weekend (EOW).

Requirements

CNA certification is required.
No experience is required.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with activities of daily living and personal care, including bathing, dressing, ambulating, toileting, meals and nourishment, hygiene, transfers, and care of personal assistive devices.
Assist residents with instrumental activities of daily living, including telephone calls, light housekeeping, laundry, escorts, transportation coordination, and mail delivery or correspondence.
Assist residents with self-administration of medications through cueing only.
Observe and report changes in residents’ physical condition and cognitive or emotional status to the ALSA Supervisor or Director of Assisted Living Services as needed.
Conduct resident room checks and rounds, monitor for environmental safety hazards, and document incidents, errors, accidents, and resident-related events.
Assist with dining tasks, including escorting residents, meal setup and cleanup, and serving meals.
Participate in and support the resident-centered activity program, and complete required written documentation about resident care and activities during the shift.
Act as a resident advocate and follow agency confidentiality policies.
Communicate tactfully and diplomatically in sensitive or emotionally charged situations, and follow up with appropriate staff, residents, or others about complaints, problems, and concerns.
Act as an ambassador to guests and off-campus visitors.
Maintain certifications required for employment.
Perform other duties as required.
