About The Position
LCB Senior Living is hiring a part-time Memory Care Activity Assistant at Traditions of Dedham in Dedham, Massachusetts. The role supports the planning and delivery of residence activities and helps residents participate in activities, community outings, and daily programming. The position pays $19.00–$21.00 per hour, based on years of experience.
Requirements
- Ability to assist in developing and implementing activities.
- Ability to create interest in activities and motivate residents to participate daily.
- Creativity and motivational skills.
- Effective communication in English, orally and in writing.
- Ability to perform tasks and work independently.
- Computer literacy and familiarity with office software, including word processing, spreadsheet, database management, presentation, and calendar/newsletter software.
- Valid driver's license in the state of work, with no more than two moving violations in a three-year period as determined by the company’s insurance broker.
- Ability to lift at least 15 pounds, carry objects, push and pull carts, and meet the physical demands described for the role.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in recreational therapy or a related field preferred.
- Gerontology experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist with planning, developing, organizing, and implementing residence activities.
- Suggest ideas for improving and expanding the Activities Program.
- Maintain a professional, warm, and caring relationship with residents and families.
- Help arrange transportation and escorts for residents traveling to and from outside and community activities.
- Help maintain and expand volunteer programs.
- Assist residents with maintaining and operating the residence store.
- Help maintain adequate supplies within the department budget.
- Assist residents to and from activities.
- Help prepare the monthly newsletter and/or weekly calendar.
- Attend required ongoing in-service training sessions and orientation.
- Drive residents in a van as needed.
- Perform dual tasks and work independently.
