Memory Care Activities Assistant
About The Position
The Memory Care Activities Assistant supports residents’ physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being by encouraging participation in activities and promoting residents’ involvement in their own health and wellness. The role carries out activities that reflect residents’ varied backgrounds, needs, areas of concern, and interests. The assistant also helps expand participation by recruiting, organizing, training, and recognizing volunteers and involving residents’ families and the wider community. Team members are expected to demonstrate compassion, accountability, relationship-building, and excellence, and to support fellow employees, including by helping onboard new teammates.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with the geriatric population is preferred.
- CNA certification is preferred; must be open to obtaining CNA certification within the first six months of employment.

Responsibilities
- Encourage residents to participate in daily activities that support their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
- Motivate residents to take an active part in their health and wellness.
- Carry out activities suited to residents’ varied backgrounds, areas of concern, needs, and interests.
- Recruit, organize, train, and recognize volunteers to expand and supplement the activity program and include as many residents as possible.
- Involve resident families, the community, and volunteers in activities to increase resident participation.
- Support fellow employees by helping onboard new teammates.
- Provide care and compassion to residents.
