About The Position

As a Membership Recruitment Specialist, you’ll be the friendly, energetic face of Girl Scouts in your community — sparking curiosity, building relationships, and inspiring girls and families to join the movement. You’ll spend your days connecting with schools, faith-based groups, and community partners to grow membership and recruit the volunteers who make Girl Scouting possible. Requirements

  • Experience in membership development, recruitment, community organizing, or a similar sales model.
  • A strong commitment to the Girl Scout Mission and the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.
  • A track record of achieving sales-related or recruitment goals.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; comfortable presenting to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including frequent evenings and weekends. This position requires an average of 2-4 work evenings per week, and 3-5 weekend workdays per month during peak seasons.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance.
  • Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
  • Quick thinking to handle volunteer needs and resolve conflicts.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Empower girls to lead activities, learn by doing, and cooperate with others on current issues that involve their interests and needs, while having fun.
  • Demonstrate dependability, honesty, and credibility.
  • Adjust, modify own behavior, and remain flexible and tolerant in response to changing situations and environments. Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills required. Excellent time management skills required.
  • Access, organize and manage information effectively. Keep accurate and timely records. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement marketing plans based on analysis and council data. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage resources and projects.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement year-round strategies to exceed membership targets for girls and adult volunteers.
  • Cultivate relationships with schools, businesses, and community centers to increase awareness and engagement.
  • Recruit, onboard, and train new troop leaders, providing coaching to ensure a high-quality, sustainable first-year experience.
  • Support and empower local Service Unit volunteers (community volunteers) to lead recruitment and retain existing members.
  • Track, analyze, and report on membership leads, trends, and progress toward goals using CRM systems (Salesforce).
