About The Position

The Union of British Columbia Performers (UBCP/ACTRA) is seeking a Member Services Coordinator to join their team. This role is responsible for coordinating the activities of the Member Services Department, including recommending, organizing, and developing member education programs, providing daily assistance to members, and maintaining accurate performer profiles. The position aims to engage members to increase involvement, awareness, and education within the UBCP/ACTRA membership. The successful candidate will possess excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, proficiency in MS Suite, and extensive experience in a customer service and administrative environment.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or post-secondary formal training in project management, business administration, event management and/or a relevant discipline with a minimum of three (3) years of related experience is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
  • Experience working in an administrative role in a member based and/or customer service-oriented environment.
  • Exceptional administrative, organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Intermediate computer skills using MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Sensitivity and judgment in the handling of confidential information.
  • Ability to analyze and problem solve, show initiative, and take ownership of tasks.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service to the UBCP/ACTRA Membership in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ability to understand and interpret the UBCP/ACTRA and ACTRA National Bylaws and Constitution.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience coordinating educational workshops and seminars would be considered an asset.
  • Film industry knowledge would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the activities of the Member Services Department.
  • Recommends, organizes, and coordinates workshops and other developmental seminars.
  • Provide assistance to members and non-members regarding Union-related services or responsibilities.
  • Provide names of members available for work to casting directors and/or extras casting agents.
  • Liaison between members, new members, and the Membership Committee for membership decisions and recommendations.
  • Responsible for providing reports on membership related issues, including statistical data.
  • Supplies appropriate documentation to members, non-members, and new members for Union orientations.
  • Maintaining up-to-date and accurate performer profile details for administrative purposes.
  • Assists in mail outs, as required.
  • Attends Membership Meetings as required.
  • Other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Employer.
  • Reports to the Employer.
