About The Position

The Member Services Associate serves members and guests at the Earlywine Park YMCA. The position supports membership and program services, maintains member service control, answers telephone calls and member questions, and performs clerical duties. The role also helps build meaningful, sustainable relationships with members, donors, and volunteers, and demonstrates the Y’s values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. The position starts at $10.00 per hour. Available shifts are Monday–Thursday from 1:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m. or 5:00 p.m.–10:15 p.m.; Friday from 1:00 p.m.–7:15 p.m.; Saturday from 7:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m., 9:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m., or 1:00 p.m.–6:15 p.m.; and Sunday from 12:45 p.m.–5:15 p.m.

Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must be certified in PR/CPR, AED, O2, and First Aid; training is provided by the Y if needed.
Strong verbal, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Experience in a service-oriented environment.
Computer skills and accuracy.
Ability to lift 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

Provide membership services, including membership sales and tours.
Answer and direct phone calls; register guests; provide program information and assist with registration.
Enter membership and program information into a computer.
Accept payments, operate the cash register, and issue receipts.
Schedule appointments, make and scan membership cards, rent lockers, and stock and distribute towels.
Serve as a liaison between members and program supervisors.
Handle and resolve member inquiries, concerns, and complaints.
Monitor the facility as required.
Attend scheduled staff meetings.
Avoid using personal electronic devices, including cell phones and iPads, while working.
Develop meaningful and sustainable relationships with members, donors, and volunteers.
Demonstrate the character values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
Carry out other duties as assigned.
