About The Position

As the Supervisor of the Member Service Department in the Fernie Branch, you’ll meet team sales goals for the assigned area through sales coaching and member relationship management tools and techniques. You will manage the day-to-day operation of the member sales and service area including overseeing branch deposit functions to support the credit union brand as well as the application of safeguarding and security precautions and branch treasury functions. You’ll supervise and provide daily direction to member sales and service staff to ensure the effective provision of quality member relationship services, to maximize revenue generation, promote growth and to help members achieve and maintain their financial health. You will also recruit, orient and train team members. (This position is outside of the bargaining unit)

Requirements

  • Completion of a one-year post- secondary certificate in business administration or operations management in a college or technical school environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related member service experience in a financial institution.
  • At least 2 years in a Senior Member Service position.
  • Working knowledge of supervisory skills such as scheduling and work assignment, recruitment, and performance management.
  • Ability to provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to an assigned team, and to motivate continuous learning and performance development in others.
  • Knowledge of and ability to administer a Collective Agreement within the day-to-day operations of the branch.
  • Working knowledge of credit union deposit products and services.
  • Sound working knowledge of the current banking system.
  • Success in responding to member enquiries and providing a high level of member service.
  • PC literacy including Microsoft Word or other word processing software, Excel, or other spreadsheet application.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication skills and the ability to project a courteous, professional image.
  • Must undergo a bonding process that includes a criminal record check and credit check.
