The Member Service Specialist assists members and potential members with their Credit Union needs directly and through other Member Service Representatives. This role provides expertise with respect to more complex Credit Union services such as IRAs, certificates of deposit, electronic funds transfer, and home banking. The specialist explains services, sets up new accounts, handles lending activities, responds to problems, and directs members to the appropriate people. This position is responsible for cross-selling all credit union products and services to achieve corporate goals. The specialist assists members with opening and closing accounts, takes and closes loans, answers questions about products and services, and resolves problems within their authority. They also assist other Member Service Representatives with technical problems and questions relating to complicated products and regulations, and refer problems beyond their authority to their supervisor with recommendations. Additionally, the role coaches and mentors other Member Service Representatives in their daily duties and identifies cross-sell opportunities.
