About The Position

As a Member Relationship Advisor I at Navigant Credit Union, you'll be on the front lines of helping our members with their financial needs and supporting a positive and personalized experience. This role involves delivering outstanding service, cross-selling products, assisting with loan processing, problem-solving, team collaboration, and community engagement.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and online tools.
  • Strong verbal and written skills to explain financial products in a clear, accessible way.
  • Must be service-oriented and willing to educate members on products and services that will benefit their financial well-being.
  • Ability to multitask and be detail-oriented in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative mindset, eager to contribute to a positive, member-focused team.
  • Must be able to travel within the credit union's footprint based on business needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with banking software is a plus.
  • Ability to recommend products and services based on member needs.
  • 2 years in member service and/or teller area of a credit union or other financial institution.
  • Understanding of loan origination, underwriting, and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Help members in-person, over the phone, and online.
  • Process transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, account transfers, and address changes.
  • Assist members in opening new accounts (checking, savings, certificates, IRAs) and recommend products and services that meet their financial needs.
  • Develop an understanding of all consumer lending products and proactively identify opportunities to cross-sell beneficial products and services.
  • Help members complete loan applications, collect necessary documentation, and provide updates on loan status.
  • Originate and close NCU's Smart Start, Cash Reserve Lines of Credit, and Personal Unsecured consumer loans.
  • Ensure members understand their loan terms and next steps.
  • Address member inquiries and concerns with empathy, ensuring each interaction aligns with our core values.
  • Maintain knowledge of and adhere to all applicable compliance, operational, and risk controls, with particular attention to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and the SAFE Act.
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure seamless service and contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Collaborate with branch team and business partners to acquire and deepen member relationships.
  • Work towards meeting annual sales and service goals.
  • Act as a Navigant Credit Union ambassador in the community and at business-related functions.
  • Manage a book of business, set appointments, and follow up on referrals.
