Profound•San Francisco, CA
•$140,000 - $260,000

About The Position

Profound is hiring a Member of Technical Staff to build applications, integrations, and AI-powered workflows that help teams across the company work with less manual effort. The role works directly with partners across GTM, Data, Security, and Operations to understand their workflows and turn their needs into useful products. The work spans internal applications, backend services, and automation, with ownership from problem discovery through shipping and ongoing operation. AI should be used where it improves outcomes, while people remain in control of decisions that require judgment.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of software engineering experience building and operating production applications, services, or integrations.
  • Strong TypeScript and Python skills, with experience writing maintainable, tested production code in both.
  • Ability to work directly with technical and non-technical users to turn ambiguous needs into useful products.
  • Curiosity about how AI can change the way teams work, and practical judgment about where it adds value and where deterministic workflows or human review are needed.
  • Ability to follow a problem across applications, APIs, databases, and infrastructure and see it through to resolution.
  • Thoughtfulness about reliability, security, data access, and long-term maintenance of systems people depend on.
  • Comfort taking ownership, making tradeoffs, and communicating progress and decisions clearly.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building internal tools, business applications, or automation for GTM and Operations teams.
  • Experience shipping LLM-powered applications or agent workflows, including evaluating their quality and handling failures.
  • Experience with Rust.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, background jobs, and data pipelines.
  • Experience integrating tools such as Salesforce, Snowflake, and Slack.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build internal applications, integrations, and automations using TypeScript and Python.
  • Work with internal teams to understand workflows, identify repetitive work, and build tools that address meaningful problems.
  • Build AI-powered workflows using LLMs and agents, including evaluation, human review, and fallback paths for dependable production operation.
  • Develop systems for workflows such as lead routing, data enrichment, and operational processes, connecting the tools and data teams use.
  • Turn prototypes and existing automations into reliable, maintainable systems with testing, monitoring, access controls, and clear ownership.
  • Own projects from design and implementation through rollout, user feedback, and ongoing support.
  • Make practical build, buy, and reuse decisions; improve existing systems and reduce duplication where appropriate.
  • Investigate failures across application code, integrations, and data flows, and improve reliability, performance, and cost.

Benefits

  • Equity.
