About The Position

The Member of Technical Staff designs software experiences intended to become part of daily Valkai workflows and works with frontier models to orchestrate software interfaces that help clients use Valkai’s products. The role builds applications using Valkai’s technology stack, including Next.js, React, TypeScript, Python, Postgres, Azure, Vespa, Langgraph, and Celery. It also involves software retrieval over petabyte-scale documents in varied formats, including graphs, tables, and diagrams, and creating and using long-planning agents with human-in-the-loop architectures.

The position collaborates with teams across Valkai and with customers to improve product preparation and performance, design product experiences, and incorporate feature suggestions into new software systems. It also maintains software quality and security when working with sensitive client data. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or foreign equivalent.
• Three years of experience building frontend systems using TypeScript, React, Next.js, or similar programming languages.
• Three years of experience designing backend services using Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Redis, Celery, or similar programming languages.
• Three years of experience building large-scale fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Three years of experience with dashboard analytics to improve operational efficiency of designed automated unit turn tracking systems.

Responsibilities

• Create, design, test, and optimize organizational-level interfaces for collaborating with AI, integrating them into users’ everyday workflows.
• Build agents and fine-tune large language models to perform complex tasks, and maintain Valkai product quality through regular coding maintenance.
• Solve complex AI, LLM, and computer science problems to achieve efficient workflows.
• Clean and service Valkai software so team members can understand and use its systems and software accurately.
• Build applications using Valkai’s stack tools, including Next.js, React, TypeScript, Python, Postgres, Azure, Vespa, Langgraph, and Celery.
• Conduct software retrieval tasks over petabyte-scale documents in varied formats, including graphs, tables, and diagrams, and create and use 1000-step planning agents with human-in-the-loop architectures.
• Create and maintain data security measures when interacting with sensitive client data.
• Work with Valkai teams and customers to improve product preparation and performance, collaborate directly with customers on product experiences, and incorporate feature suggestions into new software systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
