About The Position
Build the platform that supports the company's work with enterprises and frontier AI labs to improve AI performance in professional settings, initially in engineering and life sciences. The role focuses on distributed systems, data pipelines, and performance optimization, as well as tools that domain experts use to write and review tasks. Agent runs may take hours and depend on model APIs, remote environments, and background services; the position is responsible for making these workflows reliable and understandable as usage grows. The company is a seed-stage, deployment-first AI company founded in 2025. It has raised $6 million, has a team of about eight, and is building a platform to run AI agents and produce training and evaluation datasets from real professional work. This is a full-time, on-site role in the San Francisco Bay Area, with six days per week in the office.
Requirements
- Zero to six years of software engineering experience; new graduates are welcome.
- Experience taking a project from requirements through implementation and release.
- Production software experience with distributed systems, data pipelines, or performance optimization.
- Time at a premier AI startup (Series A to E), a leading AI lab, or a scale-up.
- Sound engineering judgment and the ability to investigate unfamiliar codebases.
- Genuine interest in AI agents and making them useful and reliable.
- Ability to work on-site in the San Francisco Bay Area six days a week.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with agent workflows, model inference, or evaluation systems.
- A degree from a top engineering university.
Responsibilities
- Develop long-horizon agent workflows with the goal of supporting trillions of tokens of processing per week.
- Build services and data pipelines that manage task execution, evaluation results, and dataset delivery.
- Investigate production issues and improve performance, resource usage, and recovery from failures.
- Work with experts and project leads to improve their software and reduce repetitive manual work.
- Own the design of new features and their operation in production.
