Member Intake Specialist

Eleanor Health
•$21 - $23

About The Position

The Member Intake Specialist connects prospective members with addiction and mental health care at Eleanor Health. As often the first human contact for prospective members and their families, this role guides them through care options and advocates for Eleanor Health’s care model when appropriate. The position combines healthcare access, patient advocacy, and consultative sales in a fast-paced, technology-enabled environment. Success requires empathy, urgency, follow-through, and comfort with goals, metrics, and outcomes. This is a part-time role working 20–29 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Experience in healthcare; ideally in patient access, care coordination, community outreach, admissions, intake, or member engagement.
  • A persuasive, confident, outcomes-oriented sales mindset combined with empathy and ethical judgment.
  • Comfort working in a metrics-driven environment and viewing data as a tool for improvement.
  • Motivation to expand access to high-quality, stigma-free addiction and mental health care.
  • A strong sense of ownership and ability to create follow-up plans rather than leave prospective members without next steps.
  • Ability to move quickly, manage multiple leads, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technology proficiency and comfort using CRM systems, scheduling tools, and communication platforms.
  • Adaptability and enthusiasm for building new processes rather than relying on rigid scripts.
  • Clear, warm, and professional communication, including in emotionally complex or high-stakes conversations.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for prospective members through inbound phone calls, web form submissions, and online scheduling workflows.
  • Proactively contact prospective members who begin but do not complete online scheduling, submit information requests, or miss their first appointment.
  • Educate prospective members about Eleanor Health’s whole-person care model, including what services are and are not offered, and present it as an option for people seeking substance-use support.
  • Use a consultative, sales-oriented approach to understand prospective members’ needs, motivations, and barriers; address concerns; and explain the value of Eleanor Health’s care approach.
  • Own prospective-member leads by creating follow-up tasks, documenting next steps, and ensuring people receive follow-up.
  • Manage inbound referrals from external providers and community partners, including confirming receipt, providing status updates when appropriate, and requesting additional or updated contact information to support timely connection to care.
  • Meet or exceed individual and team metrics, including answer rate, speed to answer, quality score, and conversion to scheduled and completed first appointments.
  • Accurately document interactions in Salesforce CRM and Athena EMR.
  • Collaborate with clinical and operations teams to support a seamless member experience.
  • Incorporate feedback, coaching, and performance data to continuously improve the approach.
