About The Position

This is a temporary, part-time, in-person role based in Washington, DC, for a mission-driven nonprofit. The position is responsible for strengthening member relationships, supporting partnership development, coordinating programs and projects, and contributing to grant and special project proposal development. The Manager helps translate research findings into relevant, actionable insights for members and policymakers and supports programming that connects research with current benefits and policy issues. Reporting to the Director of Member Growth and Partnerships, this role works closely with Research Directors and the Membership and Events Manager to ensure member engagement, programming, outreach, and partnership initiatives are well coordinated, timely, and impactful.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in member engagement, program management, partnerships, project coordination, association management, or a related field.
  • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with members, partners, policymakers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to translate complex research or policy information into clear, relevant information for varied audiences.
  • Experience coordinating meetings, events, webinars, briefings, or other member-facing programs.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and virtual meeting platforms.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, public policy, communications, nonprofit management, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with member organizations and serve as a responsive point of contact.
  • Communicate the organization’s research agenda, findings, and implications through regular member meetings, briefings, and outreach.
  • Identify opportunities to increase member engagement, collaboration, participation, and retention.
  • Support partnership development and initiatives that strengthen relationships with members and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with grant and special project proposal development, including research, coordination, and preparation of supporting materials.
  • Coordinate member programming and outreach focused on emerging benefits, workforce, and policy topics.
  • Support the planning and execution of webinars, in-person events, member briefings, educational sessions, and related initiatives.
  • Assist with agenda development, speaker recruitment, preparation calls, and meeting logistics.
  • Schedule and coordinate educational briefings and meetings with policymakers, congressional staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Help translate research and policy developments into relevant programming and engagement opportunities for members.
  • Manage timelines, deliverables, communications, and logistics for member and partnership initiatives.
  • Coordinate across research, membership, events, and other internal teams to ensure projects are executed effectively and on schedule.
  • Track project activities, follow up on action items, and ensure stakeholders have the information and resources needed to meet deadlines.
  • Support the development of materials, presentations, communications, and other resources for member and external engagement.
  • Contribute to special projects and organizational initiatives as needed.
