About The Position

The Melter/Ladleman is part of the metal production team and is responsible for melting and handling molten metal while meeting quality and safety standards. The role involves precisely controlling furnace operations and transferring molten metal into ladles for further processing or casting. It requires careful adherence to safety protocols and collaboration with production team members to achieve the metal composition and temperature required for specific products. The position supports efficient and safe molten-metal production.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a foundry or metal melting environment.
• Basic understanding of furnace operations and metal properties.
• Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including heat and heavy lifting.
• Knowledge of workplace safety standards and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.

Nice To Haves

• Certification in industrial furnace operation or metallurgy.
• Experience with automated melting and ladling equipment.
• Familiarity with quality control processes in metal production.
• Training in first aid and emergency response procedures.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor melting furnaces to melt raw materials according to specified procedures and quality standards.
• Transfer molten metal from furnaces into ladles, handling it properly to prevent spills and maintain temperature control.
• Inspect and maintain melting equipment regularly to support operational efficiency and safety compliance.
• Collaborate with quality control teams to verify metal composition and adjust melting parameters as needed.
• Follow safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
