Melt Shop Operator - 3rd shift

Our history dates back to 1905, when we began to produce castings in Elyria, Ohio, for the machine tool, gas engine and other industries. Our Hodge Foundry location began operation in 1876 and built a reputation for quality casting from its Greenville, Pennsylvania location. The two foundries joined to form a single company in 2008, which is today known as Elyria Foundry. We are a fast-paced, technically advanced, customer-focused operation creating high-quality, American-made products and we’re looking for individuals who are eager to learn and contribute to the Team! Position: Melt Shop Operator (3rd shift) 8pm - 4am or later based on OT requirements
Requirements
- At least 2 years prior forklift and remote crane experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- HS degree /GED or equivalent preferred
- Demonstrated competency in loading, unloading, and stacking materials
- Ability to work in and around extreme heat required
- Ability to work independently
Responsibilities
- Operate remote overhead crane and other heavy equipment to properly load and unload material, ladles, etc. within the department and to other areas of the facility as needed
- Comfortable moving material and heavy loads up to 28k pounds
- Comfortable working around melted iron and melting/pouring iron operations
- Ability to maneuver in congested areas while operating in a safe manner.
- Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure production conformity
- Perform other duties as assigned
