About The Position

The Meltshop Electrician will promote and enhance Safety Excellence as Nucor Utah’s #1 value. This role requires working Collaboratively with the team to drive Communication, Alignment, and Continuous Improvement. Maintain, Improve, diagnose, repair and Upgrade plant equipment, Support and Lead division initiatives that set the team and division up for success. Requirements

  • 2 years Industrial, Commercial, or heavy power experience
  • Able/willing to withstand high temperature working conditions and heights
  • Willing/able to cover shifts, be called in on short notice, and work overtime as required/needed
  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation

Nice To Haves

  • 4-year degree from college, technical school, or other educational program with an emphasis in Industrial Maintenance, Industrial Electricity or similar field that demonstrates the commitment and desire for personal growth and development
  • Experience with PLC’s: Allen Bradley Control Logix, Emerson, and Wonderware
  • Experience troubleshooting, programming ABB & AB drives
  • Equipment upgrade, installation, and commissioning experience
  • Proficient in testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, and equipment using testing devices such as ohmmeters, and voltmeters to ensure compatibility and safety of system
  • Process control instrumentation, working with transmitters, valves, and other electrical components
  • Working knowledge of and compliance with OSHA regulations and electrical safety standards (arc flash, LOTO, fall protection, hot work, and job hazard analysis)
