About The Position

Elyria Foundry is seeking a Melt Shop General Laborer for its first shift. Foundry work involves a fast-paced, technically advanced production environment and requires hard work, adaptability, and problem-solving. The position pays $17 per hour to start. Shift start time depends on the department and may be between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m.

The employee follows daily operating schedules and performs general labor throughout the foundry, including making molds and cores and cleaning finished castings. The role may involve working around foundry sand and extreme temperatures, using hand tools and remote cranes, and assisting with other departmental duties as needed. Requirements

• At least 2 years of prior heavy manufacturing experience.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Ability to work in and around extreme heat.
• Ability to work independently.
• Demonstrated competency in loading, unloading, and stacking materials.
• Ability to lift items up to 50 pounds consistently and perform other heavy manual work.
• Ability to perform physical activities such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.

Nice To Haves

• High school degree, GED, or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow direction from the Production Supervisor and Team Lead according to the daily operating schedule.
• Perform general foundry labor, including making molds and cores and cleaning finished castings.
• Use hand tools and remote cranes.
• Perform all duties in the department as needed.
• Collaborate with other departments and maintenance teams to ensure production conformity.
• Perform other duties as required.
• Load, unload, and stack materials.
• Handle, install, position, and move materials.
