Responsibilities

  • Tap furnaces as directed by the supervisor
  • Set up and operate the furnace for melting
  • Ability to load and unload the materials
  • Clean furnace and equipment
  • Count, weigh and record number of units of materials moved on daily production sheet
  • Remove samples of materials, label them with identifying information and take samples for laboratory analysis
  • Operate industrial truck or electrical hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and product
  • Skim sows and ingots, paying great attention to detail to ensure products meet or exceed quality standards
  • Responsible for stacking, banding and prepping of product for shipping
  • Ability to diagnostics, troubleshooting and repair of furnaces
  • Maintains work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition ensuring strict adherence to 5S standards
  • Responsible to accurately and timely complete all necessary paperwork, such as, attendance reporting, corrective actions, preventative maintenance work orders, etc
  • Comply with established QMS procedures
  • Follow the requirements of the Quality Policy, ISO/TS system, and procedures and participate in the Continuous Quality process
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and report any unsafe conditions in a timely manner
  • Must follow all safety rules and policies as set forth by OSHA guidelines and Orion Castings including wearing the proper personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Perform other associated duties, functions or work as may be needed or assigned to continue the productive operation of the company
