About The Position

Skana Aluminum is seeking a Melt Cast Technician who is detail-oriented, safety-first, and eager to work with aluminum and specialized equipment to produce high-quality aluminum slabs. This role involves hands-on work with molten metal and casting processes in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Requirements

Ability to move, transfer, and store aluminum slabs.
Experience or ability to assist/lead in casting molten aluminum into slabs.
Proficiency in monitoring temperatures and performing skimming/puddling.
Skill in maintaining molds, machinery, and controls.
Commitment to safety, including wearing appropriate PPE.
Understanding and adherence to Lockout/Tagout procedures.
Willingness to train and guide crewmates.
Ability to work in an environment with heat, noise, moving mechanical parts, and forklifts.
Must wear safety glasses, safety shoes, and PPE.

Nice To Haves

Experience as a Metal Maestro, Casting Commander, or Melting Magician.
Leadership experience in a manufacturing or foundry setting.
Experience with aluminum casting processes.

Responsibilities

Move, transfer, and store aluminum slabs.
Manage metal flow and dross.
Assist or lead the transformation of molten aluminum into slabs.
Fine-tune casting settings and maintain molds.
Load furnaces, add flux/hardeners, and monitor temperatures.
Perform skimming and puddling of molten aluminum.
Maintain molds, machinery, and controls.
Adhere to safety protocols, including wearing PPE and following Lockout/Tagout procedures.
Guide and train team members.
Contribute fresh ideas for operational improvements.
Handle various tasks as they arise to support the team and operations.
